DILG Rolls-out 2021 EXCELL Awards

DILG-North Cluster Team led by LGOO VII Ma. Fatima Daiz orients the LGU local functionaries for the upcoming
Excellence in Local Governance (EXCELL) 2021 held at 10.9 Restobar, October 6

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)- Negros Occidental Field Office conducted an orientation among local functionaries of San Carlos City for the 2021 Search for Excellence in Local Governance (EXCELL) Awards, Oct. 6.

DILG North Cluster Leader Local Government Operations Officer (LGOO) VII Ma. Fatima Daiz led said seminar assisted by San Carlos City DILG-LGOO Danille Marie Osorio.
Daiz said the EXCELL Awards will comprise the five governance areas, namely: Administrative, Social, Economic, Environmental and Local Legislation using the Prevent, Detect, Isolate, Treat, Re-integrate (PIDTR) Strategy under the National Action Plan of the government towards the “new normal” which was segregated into different governance areas.
She also discussed about the process of the evaluation which will be handled by the City Planning & Development Coordinators Office (CPDCO) as the LGU Focal Office from which it will be assessed and evaluated by the Provincial Search Committee before going to the Regional Awards Committee for the selection of winners for the different categories.
Daiz added that she is confident that the city can achieve and won the said awards since the city is an exemplary performer in local governance due to its numerous awards bothregional, national and even international.
Said evaluation has a total 100 points, taken from 70 points of EXCELL Indicators, 30 points from Best Practices in the prevention and control of COVID-19 that produces intangible and tangible impact to the lives of the people as well as improved the local government operations or delivery of public service and maximum of 5 points added to the final score of the winning LGU.
The winners of Best Practice category will also have the chance to be published in regional and national publications of the DILG.
The said awarding ceremony will be on December 3, 2021 during the DILG’s yearly awarding and recognition of LGUs called PAGDAYAW.
